Bag works nicely, holds a lot, and is watertight. The mesh bag on one side and the straps on the other side are unnecessary and get in the way of paddling.

I just purchased the Aleutian Deck Bag and love the low profile dry bag. In challenging weather it stays rock-solid on my sea kayak. While it can be a bit challenging to open from the cockpit, it also stays dry when immersed in water, something my previous deck bag did NOT do. The bilge pump stays solidly on the side of the bag as my water bottle says on the other. I appreciate the design of the bottle holder as it can crimp down to hold the shorter bottle, or open up for a longer bottle. I need this flexibility as I kayak year-round.

I really love this bag, it keeps everything absolutely try, holds my pump perfectly, and stays securely affixed to my deck lines.

  3. Christian Cotz

Loved my deck bag. Do a lot of whitewater canoeing and kept it lashed to the yoke thwart in front of my saddle. Great for glancing down at the map, and for quick access to splash top, extra layer, bug juice, all that stuff you need throughout the day. I used the pump straps to secure a spare single blade within easy reach. Used it for expeditions and day trips. Once you get used to having it, becomes essential piece of gear. Lost mine in a disaster up on the Broadback River in Quebec.
